Buon Anniversaire Anna, Au Revoir Paris

by on July 18, 2012

Yesterday, after Renee made Anna a birthday pear with her french toast…

… we went to Versailles.  Yet another “gotta see it when in Paris” sight.  We think everyone who was at the Louvre on Monday took all their friends to Versailles on Tuesday. Here’s the line to get in

But we did see all the sights, and once we got through it was a nice sunny day outside (first time all trip!) and we wandered the gardens a bit.

Then we went to the Eiffel Tower restaurant (not the one with a Michelin star, the other one) for Anna’s birthday dinner. Anna is 11 now!   We had a really fun time, including an awesome view of the city…

the kids all got yummy “cocktails”..

…. and Cousin Hannah got a glass of wine (shhh… don’t tell anyone, she’s only 15, and she didn’t like it much).  The food was all really good… Aunt Donna is scheming on how to get the recipe for the ginger carrot puree.

The cake was especially nice

And every hour at night they have a big light show on the tower, and it was fun to see the show from inside the tower

The Paris leg of our trip is over…. so it’s time for a vacation!   Tomorrow we go to Malaga on the Costa del Sol in Spain.  We just shipped home a few boxes of long pants, sweaters and umbrellas… they got a lot of use in the last 4 weeks, but we won’t be needing them in Spain or Italy.

Au Revoir Paris, Bienvenido Espana!
