Random musings on Barcelona

by on August 1, 2012

We don’t really blog on the boring day to day tourist stuff, but just for the record, we did a few other things in town including….

Seeing Olympic Stadium

Seeing a Flamenco show….

(You’d think that Flamenco is all about the dancing, but it’s more than that… it also includes some very cool guitar playing, and some not-very-cool singing by the guys that sounds like yelling).

… and we also saw a cool outdoor water-and-lights-and-music show.

Oh, and Alex lost a tooth:

The Barcelona tooth fairy apparently brings a 2-Euro coin and a small gift… a charm of the Magic Square from Sagrada Familia.

So we had a good time in Barcelona.

You’d think that a cry of “Hey, kids, who wants to go on a vacation in Italy for 3 weeks, without the hassles of jet lag and a 14-hour flight?” would get a more-enthusiastic response than it did.  Yeah, we can’t deny it… we’re 2/3 of the way into the trip and we’re all a little tired.  But onward we press… onto our ship tonight for a hopefully-fun “cruise” to Tuscany.    See you soon.

Que Lastima! We just got back from a short trip, and I realized that I won’t get to make fun of Spain any more. But then again, you are heading to Italia…

Per your instructions (from the Montserrat post)I looked up “fununcle” on dictionary.com and was not surprised to find my picture there. Just for the heck of it I went to thesaurus.com and searched for the antonym–again, not surprised to find John’s foto under “boringuncle.” Still not sure why you wanted us to look that up, though.
