This BUILDING’s on fire

by on July 1, 2013

Today, we went to Chora Church. We took the T1 and T4 tram lines to get there. On our way, we stopped by a park, and the city walls. In the park, we walked on a rock path surrounding a fountain (it was not much of a path). When we got to a large intersection, we saw a building near the road. Then we visited the church. It had undergone many renovations and served as a Church, Mosque, and Museum. There were many mosaics, and paintings, many ruined while taking off the plaster the Muslims put over them.

On our way back, we saw the same building near the road, except it had been burned, and the firemen were destroying the chimney with a stick (it worked). This is one of the things we did.

I wrote this late at night, so I am tired and we are going on a flight tomorrow. We have pictures of some of these things but I will post them later.
