Up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up, up (Alex)

Today, we saw the Postal Museum. The first thing we did was walk to Union station. To be honest, I wasn’t very impressed with the design.

After Union Station, we went to the Postal Museum. The postal museum had a couple of interesting things (such as 180˚ movies), but it wasn’t that interesting. The interesting part, however, was the stamp collection. For example, they had about 100 of the Inverted Jenny stamps. They also had some stamps about space on a letter written in space, and evidence of the Stamp tax (through a part of a letter found). Oh, and they also had one of the only surviving letters on the Hindenburg. I thought the stamp collection was pretty cool, as there were some very rare stamps. Later, we went to Rosslyn, Virginia so we could ride the escalators in the station.

That was not green-screened, and we were not standing on the railroad tracks. That was a picture, with no editing done, of the escalator ride down. The escalators are the longest in North America, and the 3rd longest in the world (behind some stations in Russia). Lastly, we had dinner with Dad’s friends from All Covered. This is what we did today.

Alex- I’m constantly entertained by how many things don’t impress you. You’ve just seen it all! Lived too full a life at the tender age of 11 🙂
