Welcome to London (by Rachel)

by on June 18, 2015

I am so excited to be part of the illustriousĀ Beaver Family Trip and to have finally landed in London. I am slightly nervous to be writing aĀ blog post fearing that it will be graded, but I have beenĀ assured by Uncle David that there is no need to worry. Ā So, after traveling for almost a full 24 hours, I am now further away from my family then I have ever been, but it still hasn’t hit me that we’re in a different country. Ā It has been surprisingly warm and sunny which is not what you expect when you think of England, but while the nice weather lasts, we are going to do all of the touristy things that you can whilst in London.

Today, after settling into our apartmentĀ and taking a much needed shower, we headed to a little restaurant just down the street for dinner then walked along the main road to pick up some groceries. Ā Now, we’re back in the apartment, trying to fight the jet lagĀ whileĀ Uncle David is explaining computer stuff to meĀ while I sit with a blank face pretending to understand what he’s talking about. Ā It’s been interesting seeing the differences between America and England, but so far the trip has been great. Tomorrow we are going to see the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, and everything that you need to see in London, and I am so excitedĀ for the next 25 days.

  1. If it hasn’t hit you that we are in another country, how much tobacco does LA have in its environment?

Don’t worry Rachel – David is used to the blank face of people trying to understand what he is talking about. The Wendlandt’s give you an A+…the plus is bonus points for the vocabulary (whilst).
