A city in a city (Alex)

by on August 2, 2015

Today, we went to the Parliament building. There is no other way to phrase the insanity of the building, as the fact that the government could have built 3 small cities for the price of Parliament. There are 23 km of hallway. All of the gold above 3m above the floor is 24 karat leaf. This building is literally the Versailles of Parliaments.

To the extent that even people who work in Parliament are not even allowed to see all of it.

I am still waiting to find someone who thinks that the politicians are doing things for the good. Our taxi driver and tour guide were not fans of the politicians.  For example, stores are not allowed to be open on Sunday. Anyway. In parliament there were slots where people used to be able to put their cigars, but now smoking is not permitted in the building. All in all, this building is way too large, especially for the 130 people they have working there.

At the end of the day, we went on a Ferris Wheel that swayed a bunch.

This is what we did.
