Travel day – by David

by on July 3, 2017

Not much to report today…. we took the “world’s most beautiful” train ride from Oslo over Norway’s mountain peaks to Bergen, on the Atlantic coast. The train was surely beautiful…. many waterfalls of runoff from snow and glaciers, very pretty holiday cabins, etc.   Here are a few photos through the train window:

This lake is still frozen over in July:

Bergen is a decent-sized city…. about 300,000 people, with a very long history.  We’re staying in a super-quaint little house from 1877 that has lots of stairs to the third floor bedroom (the kids get to do the stairs…. their knees can still handle it)

The wharf and fish market, plus houses glued to the side of the hill, are very pretty

And even the McDonalds is in a 300 year old building

Good night…. see you tomorrow!
